Know which Christmas plants to keep away from your cat or dog. A printable fridge poster of festive plants and decorations to keep out of reach, plus easy checklists and a pet & vet details card.
Poinsettias, holly, mistletoe, lilies in a gift bouquet, the tree itself... Christmas brings lots of new plants into the house, and it is hard to remember which ones to keep away from curious pets. This printable set puts them on one page for the fridge, with UK common names and Latin names so you can match the plant label. Made for UK cat and dog owners (British spelling, A4 first) in a cosy forest green and berry red design, with every plant illustration drawn by us.
This is an instant digital download (PDF).
What is included: 5 pages
- Fridge poster: Christmas plants & hazards to keep away from pets. Poinsettia, holly, mistletoe, amaryllis, lilies (highly toxic to cats), Christmas rose (hellebore), cyclamen, English ivy, the Christmas tree (needles and tree water), kalanchoe, yew and tinsel, each with a short plain-English note and cat/dog icons.
- Pet-friendlier Christmas choices: the Christmas cactus (non-toxic to cats and dogs according to the ASPCA), seven easy festive swaps and a "before you bring a plant home" checklist.
- If your pet eats a plant: what to do first, plus a fill-in sheet to note the plant, the part eaten, roughly how much, the time and anything you have noticed, ready for the vet.
- My pet's info & vet details: two fill-in pet emergency cards (pet details, microchip, medication, your vet and out-of-hours vet).
- Room-by-room Christmas pet-proofing checklist: living room & tree, windowsills, hallway, dining table, garden and "ready, just in case".

How to use
- After checkout, download your zip using the download link on your order confirmation page and in your confirmation email, then unzip it.
- Open the PDF for your paper size and print at 100% / Actual size (not fit to page).
- Plain paper is fine. Card (160-250gsm) is lovely for the fridge poster and the pet cards. Laminate them or use a clear sleeve if you like.
- Fill in your own vet and out-of-hours vet on the pet card, and save both numbers in your phone too.
Important: please read
Information only, not veterinary advice. Compiled from the ASPCA and other published veterinary sources. Plants affect individual animals differently and this is not a complete list. If your pet may have eaten any plant, contact your vet or out-of-hours vet immediately.
- "Non-toxic" does not mean edible. Any plant can cause a mild upset tummy if eaten.
- No helpline phone numbers are printed, so nothing goes out of date. Just add your own vet's details.
- Source: ASPCA and other published veterinary sources, checked October 2026. Shop Willson is not connected to or endorsed by the ASPCA.
